God always provides

And when the dew had gone up,
there was on the face of the wilderness a fine,
flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground.
— Exodus 16:14 ESV

In Exodus 16:14, the Lord miraculously provided food for His people. In the wilderness, where there was nothing to eat, He made a way.

I've been a believer for almost 60 years since giving my heart to Jesus when I was 7 years old. All my life, God has provided for me. Over and over again, He has cared for me. I’m so grateful. There have been seasons in my life where I was looking ahead and became anxious about paying bills or needing something. But every time I look back, I realize that anxiety was my own burden. God always provided.

I was raised by a believing mother in a single-parent home with two other siblings. She told me a story where there was no food in the cupboards, and she was literally making popcorn just to put something in our stomachs. Then a knock came on the door—it was a woman from the church with bags and bags of groceries. She told my mother, “I just felt the Lord told me to bring you some food today.”

The same God of Exodus 16:14 is the same God today! He provided manna in the wilderness for the Israelites and He brought provision to our doorstep when we were most in need—unexpected, timely, and sufficient.

Remembering God’s Provision

How have you experienced Jesus as your provider? Take time this week to share some of your God-stories with a friend.

Father, You have proven again and again how You provide all that we need. We are so grateful!
Open our eyes to Your daily provision and let the reality of who You are bring peace to the anxiety in our hearts. Amen.
