REMEMBERING THE GOODNESS OF GOD

Every time we check the news or open up social media we are bombarded with just one perspective - bad news. I find my heart rate increasing or my anxiety growing when I read all the trigger words that seem to be placed in headlines to cause just that kind of reaction.

Bad news is on the rise and it feels like we are all being targeted by fear.

It’s in this moment we must learn to continually lift our eyes a little higher and remember the goodness of God. When everything seems to be trying to pull us toward fear we get to remind ourselves of the truth.

"For the LORD is good; His loving kindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 100:5

"How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men! You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man” - Psalm 31:19-20

He is good. He doesn’t change. He continues to be who He’s always been. When the world only offers bad news, He offers good news. The truth of the gospel is so much better than we give it credit for. He saved us, He loves us, we are His children.

When we make this our focus it can change our emotions. It can change the way we process news and the world around us.

What is your go-to Bible verse that reminds you of the goodness of God? How has focusing on the truth over the negative perspectives of the news and media helped you during this time?
