A PRAYER FOR WISDOM

IMG_4535.JPG

As I scroll through national and international headlines today, I'm assaulted by the disasters and calamities that inflict strike after strike on our globe.  Economic devastation visiting nation after nation. Racial injustice ripping entire communities apart. Wildfires raging out of control. The list goes on and on and on and on.

As my heart daily breaks at the pain that is ravaging our earth, there is a heart cry that just keeps coming back over and over; a cry of, "Lord, give wisdom." I feel that there is nothing more that I, in my personal life, and the Church corporately, needs in this hour of history.

In the midst of tears, we can find great comfort in this, that the Lord has vowed in James 1:5 to give wisdom if we simply ask. "If any lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."

Not only will he give, He promises to give generously. He has a heart so willing to pour out upon us, His children, all that we need.  All we have to do is lift up our eyes and ask for this understanding that is so desperately needed.

He is our Leader, our Guide, and our Good Shepherd. Let's lift up our voices today and ask for understanding. He will give us the the understanding that we need to walk through this season rightly.

P.S.

Here are a few other encouraging verses that express the same truths as James 1:5. Proverbs 2:3-6; Jeremiah 29:12-13; Proverbs 3:5-7; 1 John 5:14-15; Matthew 7:7-11
